This year our monthly meetings will feature demos and presentations about different aspects of the process of making comics. Our special guest presenter for October is Rich B. See details below.

For this meeting, Rich will first briefly go over the history of desktop type (It all started with a Superbowl commercial…), then cover some basic type terminology and design “rules”, and finally, give a technical overview (operating systems, type formats, etc.). Next he will walk through an example of the process of adding text to a comic page in  Adobe Photoshop CC and will finish with a few good references (font sites, etc.)

Rich B is a cartoonist living in the Chicago area. “Regulars” at our Monday drink and draw events know him well. You can see some of his work on his instragram account (@rabcprojects).

Third Coast Comics is located in Rogers Park on Sheridan Rd. just south of the Loyola Red Line station (east side of the street next to Felice’s kitchen).

The event is BYOB, so feel free to bring something to drink and/or eat.
